Dear friends and family,
We greet you from a rainy(and by rainy, I mean torrential down poor, flooding rain) in Indonesia. We woke up to pouring down buckets of rain and had to reschedule our events for the day, as victor said the road to the orphanage is flooded and that would be to dangerous... We agreed and gladly went along with plan b of checking into our new cottage and relaxing for the day. It has been an adventure filled first week already where we taught in the primary school, Nicholas did a number
of preaching engagements, from teaching at their theology school, two church services, Sunday school and we have had some great conversations with the locals.
I got sick the second day we arrived(wouldn't you guess that) but I am starti g to feel a bit better and stronger each day...please keep the prayers going, and thank you for them (thanks amber for the Med advice)
the culture is so very different and very interesting to just sit back and watch. We have been learning bahasa Indonesia and between Nicholas saying the few words we know and me listening and trying to decipher what we are being told we are making progress. Every he in Bali has a Hindu temple. These range from a bamboo shelf with idols to a large intricately carved stone structure. They make offerings each day . For the muslms on the isla d there are calls to prayer over loud speakers. In contrast to this, yesterday we saw where the tourists stay... A segment of the island which is gated and guarded. A true border crossing experience.
Humidity is high like someone left a scalding shower running all day.
More later.
Love,
The Morgans

Hello Nick and Autumn. It is good to hear from you. I am happy that you are both doing well and enjoying your adventure. We think of you all the time and wonder what you are up to. The time difference really makes it challenging to communicate. Anyway, I hope the rest of you trip goes well and you are able to accomplish everything you set out to do. Be blessed. Love Bob.
ReplyDeleteYou are constantly in our prayers, we miss you, we love you. Keep up the good work preaching the good news. The call to prayer you hear everyday reminds me of the loudspeakers in Iraq. We had a baby appt. today and all is great. 155 beats per minute. Court had her first braxton hicks contraction last night and it was really painful for her, but exciting at the same time. Love, Jonathan
